BlumShapiro 5K for Camp Courant

Each summer, the Travelers Championship, Connecticut’s legendary PGA TOUR event, brings Connecticut residents an opportunity to be part of the action at an exciting professional sporting event, while giving back to the community at the same time, as 100% of net proceeds of the tournament are contributed to local charities. This year, you can get into the spirit of the Travelers Championship by participating in the BlumShapiro 5K for Camp Courant at the Travelers Championship!

Join runners, walkers and plenty of golf fans by participating in the BlumShapiro 5K for Camp Courant at the Travelers Championship, to be held along the Cromwell roads that line the fairways and greens of TPC River Highlands and the spectacular practice facility. When the race is done, you can keep the action going! All participants will be given one ticket valid for any one day admission to the 2012 Travelers Championship!

Race Beneficiary

In 2012, proceeds from the race will help benefit Camp Courant, which has provided free summer activities for city children since the summer of 1894. Today, it is the nation’s largest, and one of the oldest, free day camps where children ages 5 through 12 participate in a variety of recreational, educational and cultural programs at a campsite in Farmington.

The event is a great way to support your community!

• Entry Fee Donation: $5 of each entry fee will be donated to Camp Courant.
• Race Participant Donations: All race participants are encouraged to make an additional donation to camp, $25 will send a kid to camp for day, $125 for a week and $750 for the entire season.
• Pledges Per Participant: In addition, race participants are encouraged to collect sponsors to support the charities as well via an online donation system.
